It’s Halloween week! And I have the easiest and spookiest cocktail you can recreate to celebrate this Halloween in style. This is how you make the Halloween Margarita.

Take this Halloween margarita for example. At it’s heart it’s a classic tequila Margarita. All we are doing is adding some black dye and swapping the regular orange liqueur with blue orange liqueur. It couldn’t be more simple yet the payoff is a memorable cocktail that looks amazing and tastes just as.
Black Cocktails
Black cocktails are something I’ve covered in depth before. For this specific cocktail we’re taking the technique of adding food dye to turn our cocktail black.
Food dye is the easiest way to turn a cocktail murky and make it look more Halloween like without changing the flavor.
Midnight Looking Margarita
However, this is not a full black cocktail. The idea is that it looks like midnight. So we want some hues of blue mixed with that black. To do this, we’re going to swap the usually margarita ingredient Cointreau for another orange liqueur blue curacao. The difference being blue curacao is bright blue.
Once we mix that with out food dye we get a cocktail that taste exactly the same as a classic margarita with 1 key difference. The look.
