Looking for a cheap but delicious cocktail experience to have at home this valentines day? Then look no further! I’ve got the perfect prosecco cocktail valentines day experience which is cheap, easy to do and accessible. I’ve even got a non-alcoholic version. This, is how to make endless valentine prosecco cocktails.

Valentines day prosecco cocktail recipes

Valentine's day is just around the corner, which usually means going to a fancy restaurant and glugging back the sweet bubbly concoctions that are prosecco filled cocktails.

But I’ve got a better idea for you. An idea to help you save a little money whilst having a lot of fun.

The Formula for Valentines Day Cocktails

So, with ALOT of prosecco cocktails they pretty much follow the same route; something to sweeten, something to flavour and something to take away from the overall volume of a drink to save money.

Examples? Kir royale, Bellini, Mimosa, Bucks fizz, French 75, Champagne Cocktail.

Then you have your signature spin off cocktails that a lot of bars do for there one night only v-day cocktail specials; Rhubarb fizz, Hibiscus royale, Strawberry love.

Whatever the name or flavour, these cocktails are pretty much the same. You take a flavoured syrup such as strawberry, hibiscus, rose etc. You know, something red or floral. You then pour that in a flute glass and top it with prosecco. Give it a stir and you’re good to go.

Oh, and one last thing, you have to name it of course. In my experience this normally takes a grand total of 1 minute. You simply think of anything cringy and lovey.

Or a personal favourite of mine for naming valentines day cocktails is to take whatever flavour it is, and shove some kind of love related word on it like kiss or perhaps love. What you end up with is names like; Velvet strawberry, strawberry kiss, Raspberry cupid or berry bouquet.

So in brief, this is the formula;

Some Kind of red or floral syrup + Prosecco = Valentines day cocktail

Love, woman or red related word + Flavour used = Cringy name

Valentines day cocktail + cringy name = a very cheaply made cocktail that the majority of people buy into.

Now I seem to be undermining the formula but hey, I’ve used it many times myself, I live for it heck I created it! Just call me Cupid Cam.

How to make your endless prosecco cocktails at home this Valentines day

So, this is how you turn the tried and tested cocktail bar Valentines day menu into a at-home Valentines day cocktail experience.

Step one

Make a bunch of different flavoured syrups. This sounds difficult and time consuming but trust be. It’s super easy. To make the syrups all you need is water, sugar and your ingredient of choice. All the ratios to make them are the same and they keep for up to a week. So you are able to make them way in advance. But we will get into more details about that below.

Step two

Buy a bottle or two of prosecco.

Step three

Crack open your prosecco and ideally have it chilling in an ice bucket, arrange your flavour syrups around the prosecco with a few punnets of berries for garnishing and maybe even some rose petals for ultimate v-day aesthetics and of course, a couple of prosecco glasses.

Step four

Enjoy. Grab a glass and pour in as much syrup as you like, somewhere around the 10ml to 30ml range would work nicely, top it off with some prosecco and throw in some berries.

You may have only 3 cocktail syrups but you can add as little or as much as you like and even combine them - A little bit of raspberry, a little bit of strawberry and topped with prosecco.

It makes the possibilities endless

Valentines day prosecco cocktail recipe and method

Non Alcoholic version

As for non alcoholic versions you can just simply replace the prosecco with soda water and everything else is exactly the same.

Flavoured syrup recipes

Now for the prep. For your flavoured syrups you are going to need 3 ingredients.

  • 300ml Water

  • 300ml Sugar

  • 150grams flavouring ingredient

And the method couldn't be anymore simpler. In a saucepan combine the sugar and water and bring to a boil whilst stirring. Once the sugar has dissolved, dump in your ingredient, be it raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries or something else not in the berry family.

Whilst shopping for your prosecco just go to the fresh fruit section and grab whatever takes your fancy. The berries work best for the above ratio but you could use anything - peaches, rosemary, plums and orange all work well.

Anyway back to the method. Once you dump in your ingredient of choice, remove from the heat and let your mix simmer for 40 minutes then strain into a bottle and refrigerate.

Before straining make sure you give it a taste. If it tastes weak just let it sit for longer, simple.

If using berries, make sure you reserve some to use for garnishing your prosecco cocktails.

And there you have it. A super simple idea that leads to a bunch of super delicious cocktails and a lot of fun.

Serving up delicious cocktails is great but doing it this way and it being so simple to mix means you can create your prosecco cocktail however you want. It gets everyone involved making it more of an experience rather than just serving up some cocktails.

Want to go the extra mile?

For extra cuteness label your syrups, but don’t just label them what they are, for example “Raspberry syrup, strawberry syrup etc.

Give them cute and cringy names like the above “Raspberry kiss, strawberry silk etc.” Get creative, it makes the whole cocktail experience that much more sweeter.
